It all started with Tywin
From a young age I have always enjoyed being around dogs. However, it wasn’t until the unexpected arrival of my first dog Tywin and his subsequent behavioural issues, that I took a big interest in dog training. We rescued Tywin at the age of 5 months, and it became clear that Tywin had suffered some physical and mental abuse as a puppy which made him incredibly nervous around people and traffic, he also had a birth defect with his foot that took years to resolve.
Fortunately, we were able to overcome these challenges, and Tywin would become my work dog for 4 years.
During this time, I became qualified with various organisations such as IMDT, ABTC, PACT, Dynamic Dog and more. At the time of writing this (November 2024) I am just about to start my level 5 then 6 to hopefully become a member of the APBC.
Sadly, we had to say to goodbye to Tywin in August 2024 due to his chronic pain. He is incredibly missed but his impact and legacy live on.
