Dog Behaviour Specialist in Redhill, Surrey
Behaviour Support for Anxious, Aggressive and Reactive Dogs
Based in Redhill, Surrey and covering surrounding areas.
Whether it’s your dog’s barking and lunging at other dogs, their unpredictable and aggressive behaviour towards people, or their excessive barking and restlessness at home, living with a dog who struggles with day-to-day life can be exhausting and stressful.
You’re probably here because of a recent incident or a build-up of things that has you at breaking point and you’re looking for help before things get worse.
Having struggled with my own dog’s behaviour, a Belgian Shepherd named Tywin, I understand just how difficult life can be with a dog who struggles with aspects of their behaviour.
I know what it’s like to dread walks, constantly anticipate what might happen next, and feel the frustration and embarrassment that comes with unhelpful comments like, “Just train your dog.”
That’s why I created The Beyond Behaviour Programme. Rather than simply addressing unwanted behaviours, it takes a holistic approach to understanding why they’re happening and achieving lasting behaviour change.

Dogs I've Previously Worked With
Case Studies
Bentley, the anxious Belgian Malinois
When I started working with Bentley, he was struggling with multiple aspects of day to day life;
- Generalised anxiety
- Reactivity towards other dogs
- Extreme pulling on the lead
- Barking and lunging at traffic
- Issues with impulse control and frustration
Over 4 months, we were able to reduce Bentley’s anxiety and give him specific skills to cope with being around traffic, including tolerating having dogs in his home.
What Bentley’s owner says:
”I would like to thank Anthony for helping me and my dog Bentley. Bentley is definitely a better dog. He’s not stressed, more relaxed and happier. I can now have other dogs in the house. I can walk where other dogs are. And many more things he can now do. Would I recommend Anthony? Definitely without a second thought. Thank you so very much.”
Rory - Reactive Border Collie Puppy
From day 1, Rory was a very reactive and nervous puppy who struggled with:
- Reactivity towards other dogs
- Extreme pulling on the lead
- Poor recall
Over the period of 6 months, we are able to identify the underlying reasons for his behaviour and implement a training plan to help him become more confident and relaxed. Rory has grown into a very loving and calm dog on walks, with a lovely temperament and loving nature.
What Rory’s owner says:
“Anthony has been fantastic with our dog Rory. He was a very difficult puppy and it was difficult to work out what training We went from a dog who would bark like crazy any time he saw another dog from a mile away, to a happy confident dog who has very little reactivity issues now.”
How I Can Help
Beyond Behaviour Programme
This is programme I wish existed when I was struggling with my own dog’s behaviour – it’s structured yet never one-size-fits-all.
Comprehensive Assessment
The first step to resolving your dog’s behaviour is to understand it, it’s triggers and purpose. This involves carrying out a detailed assessment of every aspect of their life. This phase includes:
2 Hour Behaviour Assessment
The first session takes place at your home and is all about identifying the root causes of your dog’s behaviour. This involves a full exploration of your dog’s lifestyle, environment, routine, triggers, behaviour and health.
Pain Assessment
Underlying pain is one of the most common causes of behavioural issues in dogs, unfortunately it can be very difficult to identify. That is why we carry out a detailed assessment of how your dog moves, holds themselves and navigates certain activities, to identify areas of potential pain, that could be contributing or directly causing your dog’s behaviour.
Medical History Review
I will also review your dog medical history, to identify any factors that could be causing or contributing to their behaviour.
Emotional Regulation Test
It’s not uncommon that dog’s with behavioural issues struggle to properly deal with stress, frustration, impulsivity and arousal. As part of our assessment, we look at how your dog handles these and its effect on their general behaviour.
Personalised Behaviour Pathway
The next step is where we begin to address the root causes of your dog’s behavioural issues. We do this by implementing changes that are specific to your dog & designed to address the root causes. This phase includes:
Behaviour Report
You’ll receive a personalised behaviour report that explains your dog’s behaviour, immediate steps you can take to make things easier and a long-term plan.
Veterinary Report & Support
A detailed vet report will be created based on the evidence gathered during our assessment. I’ll also liaise with the vet and support you through this phase to ensure your dog receives the appropriate treatment.
Additional Learning Guides
You’ll get access to guides explaining how pain affects behaviour, navigating vet visits and more.
Progress Check-in
Once you’ve implemented the recommendations from the behaviour report, we have a progress check-in session to see how your dog’s getting on.
Training & Ongoing Support
Once we’ve addressed the underlying reasons of your dog’s behaviour, we implement training to help navigate the situations they struggle with. This phase includes:
Follow-up Training Sessions
1 Hour follow-up training sessions are included to implement training and help you with any challenges that occur.
Training Guides
After every session, you’ll receive access to relevant, step by step training guides with video demonstrations.
In-between Session Support
Direct support is available in-between session via text, email and/or WhatsApp for the entirety of the programme.
Learning Hub Access
Access to an online learning, allowing you to manage every aspect of your beyond behaviour experience.

- You understand that changing your dog's behaviour will take time and patience - something you're good with.
- You want to work with someone whose advice and guidance you can trust.
- You want to achieve lasting behaviour change instead of instant results.

- You don't have or want to, invest the time and effort needed to changes your dog's behaviour.
- You’re hoping for someone to “fix” your dog without being actively involved in the process or making changes yourself.
- You’re expecting immediate results without the patience required for long-term behavioural improvement.

Why choose me?
Not only am I an experienced dog behaviourist but I also have first hand experience of life with a dog who struggled with multiple aspects of day-to-day life.
Tywin was a Belgian Shepherd, who we rescued at 5 months of age. Sadly, he hadn’t had a nice start in life, which made him very nervous and a chronic injury, that amplified everything.
He struggled with fear of people due to his early experiences with the breeder, he was incredibly nervous and uncertain around other dogs and very anxious and unpredictable around traffic.
Fortunately, we were able to work through everything and he became my work dog, helping other dogs overcome their issues.
This experience showed me just how important a holistic approach to resolving dog behavioural issues is and how stressful life with an anxious dog can be.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a dog trainer and behaviourist?
A dog trainer’s role is to teach a dog new skills (walking nicely on the lead, coming back when called etc.) – think of them like a teacher.
A dog behaviourists role is to uncover and understand the root causes of behaviour and help owners address these causes. They will deal with complex behaviours such as aggression, fear, anxiety etc. – think of them like a psychologist.
What behavioural issues can you help with?
I can help you with reactivity, aggression, fear, anxiety and other complex behavioural issues.
If you unsure if I can help you, why not book a free 30 minute discovery call.
My dog has multiple behavioural issues, can you help?
It’s not uncommon for dogs to have multiple behavioural issues and yes, I can help with all of them.
When getting in touch, just let me know what the issues are and I’ll explain how I can help.
What if I need more sessions?
Should you need them, additional services can be purchased at a slightly discounted rate.
Can you guarantee results?
Unfortunately, no professional behaviourist can or should guarantee results.
Unlike a car, where we can just swap the affected part for a new one, dogs are living and sentient beings with their own emotions that require understanding and respect. What I can promise you is that I will give you and your dog the respect you deserve. I will also give you the most honest and appropriate advice to help you and make lasting behaviour change.
Do you offer quick fixes?
Nope.
Whilst in some situations it is possible to improve things in a short period of time, I focus on achieving long lasting behaviour changes and addressing the underlying issues behind the behaviours.
What training methods do you use?
All training, guidance and advice is based on force-free and up-to-date dog training methods. I DO NOT use methods that cause fear or pain.
