Dog Training & Behaviour Support in East Grinstead, West Sussex

East Grinstead Dog Training

Life with a dog should bring you joy. If it’s feeling more stressful than fun, something’s not quite right.

We all imagine the perfect dog—one that’s easy to walk, well-behaved at home, friendly with other dogs, and good with people. But in reality, things don’t always go as planned, and living with your dog can sometimes feel frustrating or overwhelming.

Maybe your dog’s barking and lunging make walks stressful, your new puppy’s biting and sleepless nights are wearing you down, or you’re unsure how to help your rescue dog feel safe. This isn’t the life you pictured with your dog. You love them and want to do the right thing—you just need some guidance. That’s why you’re here.

East Grinstead Dog Trainer

The good news? With the right training and support, life with your dog can be enjoyable and stress-free.

That’s why choosing the right trainer to help you and your dog is so important.  Not only are they responsible for training your dog but the advice and guidance they give you can have a massive impact on your life & your dogs for years to come.

So when it comes to choosing a trainer to work with, it’s important to choose someone who focuses on identifying the root cause(s) of your dog’s behaviour, rather than a ‘quick fix’ expert  and someone who will treat your dog with kindness and compassion.

That’s where I come in.

East Grinstead Dog Behaviourist

ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Anthony Lennard, a qualified dog trainer and behaviourist

I set up Buttons & Leash after the unexpected arrival of Tywin in 2018, who came with an extreme fear of people & traffic, along with a rare birth defect.  Thankfully, we were able to work through his issues and he became my work dog until he passed in 2024.

My experience with Tywin showed just how challenging life with a difficult dog can be and the importance of a bespoke and ethical approach.  So if you need help with your dog and want to work with someone qualified, experienced and who has been in your shoes – I’d love to help.

Ethical Dog Trainer

“I would like to thank Anthony for helping me and my dog Bentley. Bentley is definitely a better dog. He’s not stressed, more relaxed and happier. I can now have other dogs in the house. I can walk where other dogs are. And many more things he can now do. Would I recommend Anthony? Definitely without a second thought. Thank you so very much”

Qualified Dog Trainer

“Working with Anthony has surpassed all of our expectations! His experiences with rescues (we have a 5 month staff cross) has been invaluable in helping Olive get back on her feet. He is kind, extremely knowledgeable and always happy to help in any way possible with a variety of solutions to the same situation depending on your dogs needs and personality. Puppy classes did not work for Olive hence why we started 1:1s with Anthony, Olive has come on leaps and bounds in just 8 weeks and I am really looking forward to continuing our training bi weekly. Hand on heart, I couldn’t recommend it enough and I truly believe you won’t regret it 🙂”
